The DeJesus Factor...

As Goes DeJesus So Do The Royals

David DeJesus has a profound effect on the offensive output of the Royals. Never is a leadoff hitter more important than when the offense is struggling and the starting pitching is beginning to falter. In the beginning of the year, DeJesus was on fire, recording multi-hit games and runs scored helping the Royals to earn victories(DeJesus is currently 2nd in the AL in runs scored). Have a look DeJesus stats so far this year...with a record of 11-25

The difference in the numbers is remarkable. When DeJesus has a good day it seems as though the Royals end up on top, winning the game. Sure the numbers are a bit skewed, just because of the win/loss ratio...but the batting average and the runs scored is completely disproportional when compared to wins and losses. When you look at DeJesus' numbers over the last 7 days and compare the Royals record, 1-6 is there a corelation? DeJesus has been in a slump just like the Royals over the last 2 weeks, he only has 1 extra-base hit in the last 2 weeks and is batting .240. The Royals over that stretch are 4-10.

DeJesus needs to get back on track soon or the Royals could be in for a deeper downward spiral. It's obvious Dejesus is the catalyst of this offense and needs to stay on track and on-base for the Royals to right the ship
