Bad News and Good News

Royals Drop 7th Straight

The Bad News:
What a terrible stretch of baseball the boys in blue have put forth this past week. After such a strong road trip and then come home and drop 7 of 9 on the home stand is just disheartening. The Royals have been methodically beat down until last night when Gil Meche went 7 strong innings only surrendering 1ER, but the lowly offence manged no runs and no extra base hits to back up Meche. Even worse the team is currently batting during this losing streak, a paltry .193.

Other Notes
- Royals players of the month: Outfielder Teahen was selected Royals player of the month for May. Teahen hit .304 with three home runs and 17 RBIs. He also had seven outfield assists. Reliever David Riske was pitcher of the month. Riske didn’t allow a run in May, covering 14 appearances in 13 1/3 innings.
- David DeJesus is still struggling- 0/13 2BB during the BAL series
- I really thought this team was better, but who knows...they are on pace to lose 106 games

The Good News:
I am going out of town again! The last time I was on vacation the Royals won 8 of 10 so hopefully that will happen again while I'm gone. For updated Royals information during my hiatus, check out the links on the right and I will check back in next week.
